At least 9 people injured in shooting near bar in Cincinnati


CINCINNATI — At least nine people have been hurt after a shooting in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood early Sunday, Cincinnati Police told our news partner in Cincinnati.

The shooting took place at the 1300 block of Main Street near Mr. Pitiful’s bar around 1:45 a.m.

Lt. Col. Michael John said multiple shots were fired within a large crowd on Main Street and nine people have been confirmed to be injured,  reports.

University Hospital has confirmed there are nine victims at the hospital.

Lt. Colonel John said no one is in critical condition at this time and most injuries were to lower extremities, according to report.

No suspects are in custody at this time but Cincinnati Police says the known suspect fled the scene.

Police say there was one shot fired by an officer but it’s unclear if that struck the suspect, a reports. 

Police have closed Main Street at the intersection of Liberty Street in Cincinnati, WCPO reports.

Multiple other streets near the scene, including Woodward and 13th streets have been blocked off.

Cincinnati Police said there was also another incident in the Central Business district, but would not confirm if the two incidents were connected, according to report.

Lt. Colonel John said Cincinnati Police will continue to investigate.
